The Tuesday Club will be meeting this Tuesday at 11:00am.
Adult Christian Education:
Book Discussion- on Sundays in Lent we will be discussing "I Believe" by Alister McGrath. Copies are available for purchase in the parish hall.
Soup & Scripture- Wednesday evenings in Lent we will be learning about the Book of Deuteronomy this year.
The Good Book- This spring Father Kevin is looking to do a class on a general introduction to the Bible using “The Good Book” by Peter Gomes. Right now we are looking to find out if there is a good time for folks who may not be able to come early Sunday mornings, perhaps even a weeknight zoom meeting? Please let Fr. Kevin know if you are interested and what day or time of the week might be best for you.
Shrove Tuesday, March 4th
Please join us for a Pancake Supper and family fellowship on Shrove Tuesday, March 4th at 6 o’clock pm. Cost for the event is $10/person or $35 for a family of 4 or more. A sign-up sheet for attendees and volunteers will be in the parish hall. Ash Wednesday Services, March 5th
11 am Low mass: Communion service with prayers, sermon & imposition of ashes
6 pm Simple Service: Brief, quiet, service with prayers & imposition of ashes. No sermon or music
7 pm High Mass: Mass with choir, hymns, & imposition of ashes
Support Christian Carbonaro's Eagle Scout Project
Hello! My name is Christian and I have been a parishioner at Ascension for over 10 years. I am also a Boy Scout working toward the rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle Scout project, I am giving back to our church by helping to beautify its courtyard. This project involves replacing the old outdoor altar with a brand new granite altar, as well as some painting, power washing, and lawn repair. I plan on replacing the altar in time for Easter this year, and completing the other items with Scout and parish volunteers later in the Spring when weather is warmer. Please consider donating toward the cost of this project! There is a flyer on the Parish Hall bulletin board with photos and more details, as well as information on how to donate. Thank you!
