Volunteers Wanted for Christian’s Eagle Project

Hello everyone! I am looking for three or four volunteers who are available for a couple of hours on Saturday, May 10 starting at 10am to help me complete my Eagle Scout project. Now that the new altar is installed, we will be painting parts of the guild house steps and foundation, and filling in “dips” in the lawn to make it more level. I will have Scouts from my Troop there to help, but having a few extra hands will make everything move more quickly and easily. Please see me or my parents before May 10 if you are interested in helping, and thank you! — Christian Carbonaro

Many Thanks

I so appreciated the kind thoughts and good wishes from the people of Ascension. My 100 th was just a perfect day and with much gratitude I thank you and God bless. Sincerely and with love, Edna Colaianni.

Invitation from Liz Edelstein

Community Supported Agriculture

A CSA is a way for individuals and families to get fresh, locally grown, organic produce and support local farmers at the same time. Participants will get a box of fresh produce every week during the growing season (mid-June to October). The produce varies every week depending on what is ready to be harvested. The cost to purchase a "share" which provides 20 weeks of fresh produce is $660. Participants are expected to pick up their produce on the day it is delivered to the church. If you are unable to pick up your produce on any given week you are welcomed to have someone pick it up for you, or you may opt to have your share donated that week.  Anyone wishing to purchase a share or have questions may contact Pam Heywood at 516-808-8202. To contact Natural Earth Organic Farms about their CSA Program and their farm in Calverton, please visit their website www.naturalearthorganicfarms.com.
