Our Summer Schedule begins this Sunday, June 15th with one service at 9:30am and will continue until September 7th.
Funeral Services for Frank Seipp
Visitation: Glynn Funeral Home
Monday, June 16th 4pm - 8pm (vigil prayers at 7pm)
Funeral Mass: The Church of the Ascension
Tuesday, June 17 11:00am (followed by a repass in the parish hall)
Assistance Needed After Coffee Hour
A few helping hands after coffee hour on Sunday would be greatly appreciated to setup the parish hall for tomorrow’s funeral repass.
Church Painting
Beginning Monday 6/16 the interior of the church will be getting a much needed paint job! This is the first of the property improvements that we will be undertaking as a part of the Ascension Today & Tomorrow Campaign. Please be patient with us. This project could take several weeks and may involve having parts of the church closed off for brief periods of time. During this time the organ will be sealed off and music will be provided by the piano.
The Tuesday Club
There will be no Tuesday Club this week.
Finally! Donations are being accepted!
Starting on Monday, June 9th, you may bring in Fair donations which are in good condition – no cracks, chips or missing pieces and are clean. Items must be brought into the parish hall. Please see the ‘Donation Requests for Friendship Fair 2025’ flyer. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE:
We are updating our Friendship Fair mailing list. If you have added any of the names and addresses of people that have moved or are no longer with us, please contact the parish office. Thank you.
Engraved Brick Campaign and Walkway Project
We have begun planning for a new brick walkway to replace the rustic stone path in the shaded garden area of our church courtyard. This new walkway will be an upgrade to the existing stones, and gives our parish an opportunity to thank those who have pledged or contributed to our Ascension Today & Tomorrow capital campaign. Donors who contribute at the $1,000 level or above will be able to have the engraved message of their choice on a dedication brick, with those contributing at the $5,000 level or above having the option of a larger "double" brick. We will also be able to incorporate the original dedication messages from the old outdoor altar into new bricks in the new walkway.
Planning on this project is expected to continue throughout the summer, with installation occurring after this year's Friendship Fair. If you are interested in our Engraved Brick Campaign, brick order forms are located in the parish hall. We will be finalizing the brick order after the fair, but you may turn your completed order form into Peter Carbonaro or Father Kevin any time before that. If you have any questions, please call Peter at 516-712-9023.
Looking Ahead
Our Summer schedule will continue until September 7th. On September 7th we will return to our regular schedule of 8am and 10:30am services. On Saturday, September 13th, Father Kevin and Father Keith are inviting both parishes to an island-themed welcome back party at the rectory. Mark your calendars!
