Support Christian Carbonaro's Eagle Scout Project
Hello fellow parishioners! It’s Christian Carbonaro again. THANK YOU to everyone who has supported my Eagle Scout project to beautify the Ascension courtyard and replace the old outdoor altar with a brand new granite altar. Today, March 2 nd is the end of my fundraising campaign, and I am away camping this weekend with my Troop, so if you would still like to donate please see Father Kevin or my mom Laura. I plan on replacing the altar in time for Easter this year, and I will be asking for volunteers from our parish and my Troop to help spruce up the courtyard in May. Thank you again!
Newcomer’s Dinner
We will be having our annual Newcomer’s Dinner on Sunday, March 30 th at 5pm. Anyone who is new to Ascension over the past two years, or who has not attended a Newcomer’s Dinner yet is welcomed to attend. Please bring the kids too! Please RSVP to Fr. Kevin by March 23 rd .
Donations For Pink Roses
Sunday, March 10th is Laetare (Rose) Sunday. We are looking for six parishioners who would be interested in giving a memorial donation in the amount of $55 to defray the cost of the pink roses that will adorn the High Altar and small vase in the chapel on that day. You may use the same Easter flower forms just mark at the top “Roses”. If you are interested in making a donation, please speak with Ken Mensing.
Community Supported Agriculture
A CSA is a way for individuals and families to get fresh, locally grown, organic produce and support local farmers at the same time. Participants will get a box of fresh produce every week during the growing season (mid-June to October). The produce varies every week depending on what is ready to be harvested. The cost to purchase a "share" which provides 20 weeks of fresh produce is $660. Participants are expected to pick up their produce on the day it is delivered to the church. If you are unable to pick up your produce on any given week you are welcomed to have someone pick it up for you, or you may opt to have your share donated that week. Anyone wishing to purchase a share or have questions may contact Pam Heywood at 516-808-8202.
