Notice of Annual Meeting:
The annual meeting of The Church of the Ascension will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 10:30am. There will be ONLY ONE MASS this weekend at 9:30am. All members are encouraged to attend. To be considered a member in good standing, and therefore eligible to vote, one must have received communion in this parish at least three times in the previous year and must have made a recorded financial contribution in the past year. There will be one (2yr term) warden position becoming vacant, four (3yr term) vestry positions becoming vacant, and one (1yr term) vestry position becoming vacant.
The following names have been placed for nomination for this Annual Meeting: For warden – Jackie Gleason. For vestry (3yr terms)– Kate DeSantis, John Henkel, Corinne Musa & Carole Snow and for vestry (1yr term) Michael Coyne. Please refer to biographical snapshots of nominees in this booklet.
The book discussion will begin next Sunday, February 11 th at 9:00 am. At that time we will be discussing The Book of Common Prayer: A Biography by Alan Jacobs. This book is an excellent overview of the book that is not only a foundational part of our worship life as Anglicans, but also one of the most important books in the English language.
2023 Giving Statements
Year-end giving statements have been sent out electronically. If you would prefer to have a hard copy mailed to you, please let Margaret Bianchi know and we would be happy to mail it to you.
Shrove Tuesday February 13 th
Please join us for a Pancake Supper and family fellowship on Shrove Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 6 o’clock pm. Cost for the event is $10/person or $35 for a family of 4 or more. A sign-up sheet for attendees and volunteers will be in the parish hall. Children’s Prayer Breakfast
The next children’s breakfast will take place on February 18 th at 9:00am.
Tuesday Club
The next meeting of the Tuesday Club will take place this Tuesday, February 6 th at 11:00 am. We will continue studying “The Path” which is an abbreviated version of the Bible.
