Register Early and Skip The Line!
Please visit https://ff25.givesmart.com to securely register for the 2025 Friendship Fair. Once registered, you can purchase raffle and Parishioner Brunch tickets as well as skip the line when you arrive at the Fair. Also, if you add a credit card to your registration you'll be able to shop seamlessly throughout the event.
Silent Auction
The Silent Auction is fully digital this year. That means you don't have to be at the Fair to place your bids. Once you've placed a bid on an item, you'll be kept up to date if you're out bid and you can bid again via text message. Check out the Silent Auction information sheet by linking from the home page at https://ff25.givesmart.com.
Parishioner Brunch
On Sunday, Oct 19th after 9 am Mass we will hold The Parishioner Brunch. The Brunch is for all Ascension Parishioners, Family & Friends who helped make this year’s Friendship Fair possible. Please go to https://ff25.givesmart.com and click on the "ITEMS" in the upper left corner. There is an adult option and a kid option. Please make your purchase by Friday, Oct 3rd. Again, your personal and credit card data is safe and secure.
Department Chairs
For the third time, we will be accepting credit cards throughout the Fair. A training schedule for Department Chairs and Team Members will be sent later in the summer. All Department Chairs must be trained before the Fair. More to come on this.
Engraved Brick Campaign and Walkway Project
We have begun planning for a new brick walkway to replace the rustic stone path in the shaded garden area of our church courtyard. This new walkway will be an upgrade to the existing stones, and gives our parish an opportunity to thank those who have pledged or contributed to our Ascension Today & Tomorrow capital campaign. Donors who contribute at the $1,000 level or above will be able to have the engraved message of their choice on a dedication brick, with those contributing at the $5,000 level or above having the option of a larger "double" brick. We will also be able to incorporate the original dedication messages from the old outdoor altar into new bricks in the new walkway.
Planning on this project is expected to continue throughout the summer, with installation occurring after this year's Friendship Fair. If you are interested in our Engraved Brick Campaign, brick order forms are located in the parish hall. We will be finalizing the brick order after the fair, but you may turn your completed order form into Peter Carbonaro or Father Kevin any time before that. If you have any questions, please call Peter at 516-712-9023.
The Shop
The Shop will be closed for the summer and will reopen in September.
Gift Cards
Please note that we are beginning to run low on grocery store gift cards. Many of you know that these gift cards are used to assist people in need with buying groceries. Any and all grocery store gift card donations are welcomed and may be left in Father Kevin’s mailbox.
Looking Ahead
Our Summer schedule will continue until September 7th. On September 7th we will return to our regular schedule of 8am and 10:30am services. On Saturday, September 13th, Father Kevin and Father Keith are inviting both parishes to an island-themed welcome back party at the rectory. Mark your calendars!
