Construction Updates

The Church of the Ascension will begin construction very soon on our new Village Avenue parish hall entrance and our kitchen renovation. This has been a years-long effort and is possible because of the generous contributions and support of our parishioners and extended members of the Ascension family to the Ascension Today & Tomorrow Campaign. From the time construction begins we expect the project to take 10-12 weeks to complete. The project will be a major disruption to traffic-flow and our normal use of the parish hall for a time, so we must beg everyone’s patience and flexibility. The map below will show zones that will be “off-limits” during construction. Please, for everyone’s safety, we must insist that construction zones be respected. The temptation to see the projects progressing is strong, we understand, but there can be no unauthorized entry into the construction zones.

Entrance into the church for most worshippers on Sunday mornings will be through the front doors of the church as usual.

Entrance into the parish hall will be through the regular doors facing the parking lot. Additionally, the doors near the restroom on the west side will also be available for use.

Because of construction on the parish hall stairs, it will not be possible to move between the parish hall and the church using the normal route.

A temporary access to the church will be available through a back door in the church choir room. This access point should be limited to those who have a direct need to enter this way. All others should enter through the front doors of the church.

The kitchen construction zone is entirely off-limits. Access to the restrooms will still be available. Coffee hour will still happen, but will be more limited during construction.

Thank you for your patience!

Good things are happening!
